Peter Quin

Peter Quin, B.Ed. (Hons), is the esteemed principal of our school, bringing 30 years of expertise as a cabinet-maker and educator. Since launching his own workshop in 1989, he has crafted exceptional furniture and shared his passion for the craft. Over the years, he has developed and led degree-level programs in Furniture Design and Making, validated by the University of Kent. Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of furniture-makers and designers, Peter inspires students to unlock their full potential, equipping them with essential skills and professionalism to pursue their creative ambitions.

  • Everything for the course is provided. Students can borrow the school's tools and we provide solid wood and veneers for the project.

    Students usually bring their own lunch and snacks, and we supply an endless amount of tea. There's a nearby cafe at the Scotney Castle main grounds, a 20 minute walk or 5 min drive.

  • Absolutely. The course is suitable for all levels of experience. Beginners, intermediates or advanced. For advanced or repeat students, we can talk about a personalised project beyond the games-board, to progress the student's skills.

  • We don't really want to set a time-frame for the recipient, but we would ask that they try to book their course within a year of receiving their gift.

  • They can email or call us letting us know the name or email of the booking or their name, if you send the voucher to their email directly.
