Furniture Craft School

The School is a small and specialised teaching workshop, established by Peter Quin, a cabinet-maker and teacher with thirty years' experience.

Based on the beautiful Scotney Castle Estate in the south-east of England, Furniture Craft School offers a highly individual approach to teaching and learning.

Full-time courses (38 weeks)

The aim of the full-time course is to be able to design and make individual pieces of furniture to the highest standard. The Tutors have all successfully run their own studios, and the course aims to teach students the practical and professional skills that will equip them to set up their own workshops, or to be employed as fine furniture makers.

Students benefit from two internationally recognised City & Guilds of London Diploma qualifications in furniture-making and woodworking machinery. Find out more about our full-time courses.

Short courses (5 days)

Short courses run throughout the year. These provide the opportunity for students who wish to gain an introduction to the subject, or to further the practice of furniture-making.
